books on offer

Kirjoittelin aamupäivästä bloggeriin luonnosta tämän päivän ohjelmasta, mistä ajattelin nyt jatkaa, kertomalla mitkä kirjat löysin Waterstones kirjakaupasta. Huomasinkin, että luonnos ei koskaan tullut julkaistuksi, koska en ehtinyt valokuvata kertomusta kuvittavaa kuvaa. Hassuinta, etten edes muistanut, että postaus jäi kesken, vielä flunssasta hattarapäinen aivan selvästi. 
Noh, huomenna sitten selviää missä olen tänään syönyt maailman parasta burgeripihviä, mutta nyt näihin kirjaostoksiin. 

Mukaan päätyi kaksi bestselleriä, The Solder's Wife ja Gone Girl.  Solder's wife olin nähnyt netissä etsiessäni uutta luettavaa. Gone Girl taas poimin mukaani takakannen kuvauksen mukaan sekä tarjouksen "osta yksi, saat toisen puoleen hintaan" siivittämänä.

I ended up buying not just one but two bestsellers from Waterstone's this afternoon, mainly because there was the great offer of Buy one, get one half price. The solder's wife I had already spotted from goodreads but Gone Girl I decided for mainly on the basis of the back cover.

Mail on Sunday

En ollut erityisesti hakemassa thrilleriä, vaan kriteerinä oli kirja, joka pitäisi otteessaan ja olisi mahtava. Mail on Sundayn arvostelu ratkaisi asian melko nopeasti.

I wasn't looking for a thriller in particular, but the review it had got from Mail on Sunday sealed the deal. I wanted a great book and I hope it lives up to the expectations.
